Ratty Dreams

A Wheeler inspired piece of embroidery. In fact this isn't all that rats dream. Mortimer had a nightmare the other day. Don't know what he was thinking about but he leapt out of his hammock and legged it to the furthest point of the cage. It was the same as Tom when he wakes with a nightmare and takes a good ten minutes to decide there really is no bomb in the alarm clock. It was so bad Wheeler even went to see if he was ok and neither would take a treat for a good few minutes.

Happy New Year

Dear Kateri and Tom,

We are having a lovely time at the D'Alby's. The little people are always talking to us and telling us about cartoons and ponies and things. The very littlest one doesn't say much but she does bounce around a lot.

They have been feeding us well. They made us a lovely kabob with banana and cheese. The Gouda was particularly deeeeelish. Here is Wheeler hiding out with the biggest bit.

It's not all fun and games though, they like to exercise us. It's all very stressful.

It's not so bad though, because there are usually (healthy) treats after our workout. They've popped away for a couple of nights but left us with a variety of boxes and hidden and hard to reach treats. Why do they think we will do anything other than sleep? The silence is glorious. There was only one horrible moment when we thought we had met our maker. This giant bearded tattooed bloke came in, peered at us, took some stuff from boxes and left. We needed to have a good long sleep after that.

Rattily yours,

Mortimer and Wheeler
